About Hynes 

Hynes Charter School Corporation operates 3 campuses in the Lakeview / Gentilly aeras: Hynes-Lakeview,  Hynes-LSU New Orleans, and Hynes-Parkview. Our 3 schools are in the top 6 open enrollment elementary schools with in New Orleans. 

About You  

You thrive in a collaborative and caring environment. You have good communication skills. You are willing to be collaborative and flexible. You are dedicated to enhancing the social-emotional development of the students and you believe that recognition and celebrations are part of the learning process. 

You will perform the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers that are absent for a day or longer periods of time, which include 

• Following the lesson plan provided by the homeroom teacher. 
• Explaining the assignments.  
• Overseeing students outside of the classroom, including in the hallways and cafeteria.  
• Taking attendance and documenting daily notes. 
• Maintaining a safe environment for the participants and keeping the room clean and orderly.  

Minimum Qualifications  

Previous experience working with children 

Work Hours and Compensation 

• The substitute is called when a teacher is not available.  
• Working hours: 7:30AM to 3:15PM  
• Salary: $100/day ($125 for certified teachers)
